An age of steam and iron. Of dragons and the gunslingers that ride them.
They are known as the Dragonslingers.
And no Dragonslinger is as notorious as Thieven Levi. With his trusty dragon Blackspur he spends his days robbing from the oppressive industrial businessmen of the Farr Frontier. When he hears about a lucrative treasure being transported on the Ackerman-Canton railways he can not refuse the temptation.
When the robbery goes sour, and rival bandit Ida Swain absconds with the loot, Thieven chases after her on a perilous journey through the uncharted territories of the Farr Frontier's wild west.
But lost loot quickly becomes the least of his problems. Men decimate his dragon herd, the government opens his land to homesteaders, and every man, woman, and child become bounty hunters in an attempt to collect on the impressive reward put on his head.
All because of a long standing feud between him and Edward Ackerman, a man he killed years before.
Events spiral out of control until Thieven finds Ida Swain, and discovers the stolen loot is much more valuable than any amount of gold or silver. An item so dangerous it will force him to choose
Save the Farr Frontier from annihilation or preserve the right to be called Dragonslinger.
Dragonslingers eBook Daniel Mega
This is one of the most frustrating books I have read on Kindle; the plot is relatively tight, much of the description very good with intervals of extremely good prose, and lapses into one-or-two-sentence paragraphs, like the author's notes to self to go back and fill in action and detail, as jarring halts to the excitement.Any competent editor could clean up the typos, the misuses of words, the "their/there/they're" and "theirs/there's" confusions as well as all the similar ones that bring a reader up short and temporarily ruin the spell of the story. Note to author: you can't always spell a word just from its sound.
For any fan of Steampunk or Westerns or Dragon Fantasies or AntiEstablishment fiction, this isa great story: Outlaws as Good Guys, Bankers as Bad Guys; robot machines programmed from punchcards; ominous factories; noble indigenous people with their magic (and peyote); and of course the wonderful dragons.
There are stretches of very good very evocative writing here, enough to have kept me reading the story in one sitting. But there is far too much that needs to be cleaned up, amended, developed, or even re-written.
I am waiting eagerly for a revision of this text because it already has so much that is very good and so much of interest that I hate to see it degraded by an apparent haste to get this version onto Kindle. And I wish the Prism Dragon and its guardians a long and successful future.

A short romp through the old wild west, where dragons are a part of territory. This book has some really good ideas but none get fully developed as they should have.Dragonslingers
